Sunday team email: Week of July 2nd.

    Happy 4th of July weekend!

It is hard to believe we only have one regular season swim meet.  We are very thankful and appreciative of all families that have participated and supported the team throughout the season.  It is so fun to watch our fighting turtles swimmers improve their strokes and try new events that they have never participated in.  This week will be a short week of practice as we will take Tuesday, the 4th of July off.  Enjoy your family & friends and we will see you Wednesday on the pool deck!

    IMPORTANT CHAMPS INFORMATION!

As stated at the beginning of the season, all families that attend CHAMPS will need to volunteer at least one of the days of competition. If your child is swimming on Friday or Saturday we are asking that you go to the Fighting Turtles website and sign up to volunteer for one of the positions. The St. Johns Summer Swim League requires each team to provide a certain number of volunteers each day. We greatly appreciate you help to make Champs a success once again this year.

One position you may not be familiar with on the sign up is "Meet Marshall" - this position requires you to help direct participants and spectators throughout the pool deck, directing them away from areas they should not be and offering crowd control when necessary. You will be given instruction upon checking in.

*If you are a certified Stroke & Turn official please sign up for those positions as those are one of the most important roles at the meet.

If you have any questions or need assistance please let one of our board members know. Thank you.

An invitation was sent out via email with the details of our End of the season swim banquet.  We are asking for your help by going on the website or seeing Kelly O’dell on the pool deck to mark your RSVP.  This would be extremely helpful with the planning of this event so that we can make sure to order enough food for everyone.  Swimmers eat free and will receive recognition for their participation on the team.  We are asking that if you have any photos that you captured throughout the swim season and would like to include them in the slide show please send to Stacie Brown at [email protected] The deadline for photos is July 9th.

    THANKING OUR COACHES!

We have heard a lot of positive feedback from families regarding our coaches this season.  If any family is interested in contributing a monetary gift to show their appreciation we will be collecting each day at practice, so please see one of our board members from now until Champs.  Our gift will be presented at the banquet.  We encourage swimmers to also bring any cards or handmade posters to show their appreciation to our dedicated coaching staff!
